Graph Algorithms & Network Routing

Congratulations! In this capstone lesson, we explore the algorithms that navigate world maps, internet routers, and package build dependencies: BFS, DFS, Dijkstra, and Topological Sort.

The 4 Core Graph Algorithms

1. Breadth-First Search (BFS)

Layer-by-layer exploration using a queue. Finds shortest path in unweighted graphs.

2. Depth-First Search (DFS)

Branch-to-leaf depth exploration using recursion/stack. Ideal for cycle detection and maze solving.

3. Dijkstra's Algorithm

Shortest path in non-negative weighted graphs using a Min-Heap priority queue in $O((V + E) \log V)$ time.

4. Topological Sort (Kahn's)

Linear ordering of vertices in Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs) for package build pipelines and task scheduling.
